Stump Grinding

Tree removal isn't really complete until the stump is removed.

When a stump is left after tree removal it may re-grow even when poisoned, or it may rot, attracting decay causing fungus or even termites to your garden.  If you are in the South East suburbs of Melbourne and need a tree stump removed Total Tree Care can help.

Our range of purpose built stump grinding machines will turn your ugly tree stumps into mulch, so you can replant, re-turf or even build over that very place.

We will use the right size machine for the job, so you're guaranteed the most thorough stump removal job whether it's in a wide open space or a small terrace courtyard through a side gate.

Our Equipment.

Our smallest machine, the manually operated SHP400 is 740mm or 29" wide and will even fit through a standard house doorway!  With 25hp and a cutting arc of 960mm, it can still grind out large stumps down to 450mm below grade.  When access allows and the stumps are larger we will bring the a mid-size machine like the SP4012 with 33hp and a 100cm cutting arc.  If the job involves large-scale land clearing with lots of stumps or very large tree removals, we will pull out the big guns!  The wireless remote-controlled SP7015 tracked machine with 65hp and a 1780mm cutting arc will mulch out the biggest tree stumps very efficiently.

Pricing

When stump grinding is part of a tree removal project, we will quote you a fixed seperate price for the stump.  If you only need an existing stump from a previously removed tree done, we don't make site visits for quotes and instead work off a price range based on the diameter of the stump at ground level.  As a rough pricing guide, stump grinding usually ranges from a minimum fee of $110 for a stump up to 30cm, around $220 for a stump up to 60cm and around $350 for a 100cm stump.  Remember, the diameter is taken where the stump meets the soil, not higher up where it may have been cut as this is usually much narrower.
